Our Business & Human Rights Task Force members have spent decades working on complex human-rights challenges—from labor conditions to land-grabbing—in high-risk environments throughout Africa, Asia, and Europe.
In the field, we have extensive experience working with a variety of actors, including government officials, opposition groups, armed militias, indigenous minorities, and civil-society organizations.
The strength of our expertise lies in a unique combination of three core competencies, each one indispensable to conducting effective due diligence in today’s globalized business world:
- Specific knowledge of human-rights issues and impacts in high-risk environments;
- Legal expertise in human-rights law and regulations applicable to businesses at the international and national levels;
- Experience in grass-roots stakeholder engagement with vulnerable populations or communities.
